The
Throne/Aldrich Award recognizes the best articles
published in the State Historical Society's
publications, Iowa Heritage Illustrated
and The Annals of Iowa, during the
preceding year.
Each
article will be evaluated on its contribution to
knowledge about Iowa history, scholarship, readability,
and appropriateness for the intended audience. These
criteria shall be weighted equally.
Two Throne/Aldrich Awards
are given each year: one for the best article in each of
the publications. In addition, two Certificates of
Recognition may be awarded from each publication.
