(COUNCIL BLUFFS) – Cycling enthusiasts of all ages will gather next week at the Western Historic Trails Center for the 7th Annual Winterfest Xtreme Bike Ride, a leisurely family ride up the Iowa Riverfront Trail to the Riverside Grille at Dodge Riverside Golf Club.
The six-mile roundtrip adventure along the Missouri River is free and open to the public. It begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, from the Western Historic Trails Center, 3434 Richard Downing Avenue, located south of I-80 at the 24th Street exit (exit 1B). Bikers will be served hot cocoa before pedaling to the Riverside Grille, which will offer a special trail rider’s lunch in addition to its full dining menu.
