Des Moines Public Schools exhibit on display Feb. 12-19
(DES MOINES) – The State Historical Museum will host the Des Moines Public School Arts Department annual exhibit of student art Thursday through Feb. 19, 2009.
The State Historical Museum is at 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines. Admission is free and open to the public. Hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Selected art works created by 299 children in every grade from every Des Moines Public school will be exhibited in the Museum atrium. Media includes acrylic, watercolor, pencil, pastel to hand made paper, metal work, ceramics, photography and video of installations.
Work can be viewed during regular museum hours. The art work is not for sale. It represents work done during the 2008-09 school year. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
