Focus on state historic tax credit incentives, application process
(DES MOINES) – The State Historic Preservation Office, in partnership with the City of Waterloo and the Iowa Historic Preservation, will present a historic preservation workshop and hold office hours next week in Waterloo.
The historic preservation workshop will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, 225 Commercial Street in Waterloo. The day-long tax credit workshop will provide in-depth information on changes to the program and the new application forms and instructions.
SHPO staff will hold office hours Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. SHPO staff will be available for one-on-one meetings to offer technical assistance, particularly for help with completing tax credit application forms and to discuss specific design issues and alternatives that would meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Property owners are encouraged to bring photographs and other documentation that would be useful for understanding the building and project.
