(DES MOINES) – The application deadline for the State Historical Society of Iowa’s Historic Site Preservation Grant (HSPG) program is Sept. 14, 2009.
The HSPG program, created in 1998, provides funding to acquire, repair, rehabilitate and develop historic sites that preserve, interpret or promote Iowa’s cultural heritage. Projects funded by this program must promote an understanding of the record of human experience within Iowa.
Grant requests must be between $40,000 and $100,000 and require a dollar-for-dollar cash match. Projects funded by the grant are limited to work on vertical infrastructure, such as land acquisitions or major building rehabilitation.
Applications must be postmarked by Sept. 14, 2009, or delivered to the SHSI Grants Office by 4:30 p.m., Sept. 14, to Kristen Vander Molen, State Historical Society of Iowa, 600 E. Locust, Des Moines, Iowa 50319.
