State Historical Museum offers 4th Annual Breakfast with Santa

Event features breakfast, music and holiday stories Dec. 12 and 19

(DES MOINES) – Families and children can enjoy the magic of the season next month with breakfast, seasonal music and holiday stories at the State Historical Museum.

The 4th Annual “Breakfast with Santa” will be 9-11 a.m. Dec. 12 and 19, 2009, at the State Historical Museum, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines. Tickets are $15 for ages 12 to adult; $12 for ages 11 and younger and free for children 3 and younger. Tickets may be purchased at www.iowatix.com or by calling 515-277-3727. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. All tickets must be purchased in advance.

“Breakfast for Santa” features a kid-friendly breakfast from Café Baratta’s and seasonal music by guitarist Frank Strong. Santa and Mrs. Claus will join the families and read holiday stories to children.

Those who wish to have their picture taken with Santa may do so in front of a holiday scene complete with a large, lighted tree and characteristic Gingerbread House. The Elves’ Workshop will be open for children, with accompanying adult, to make gifts for friends or family members. Children will receive a special gift.
