Des Moines, Iowa—“Reflections of Iowa,” the State Historical Building’s Museum Store, set record revenues for the year ending 2004, including record monthly sales in December. Unaudited figures for calendar year 2004 show an increase of 14.5 percent over the previous year. December 2004 revenues were 76.5 percent higher than the previous December, and a 70 percent increase over the previous best December.

Margi Weiss, CEO of the Iowa Historical Foundation, which operates the museum store, said an increased number of visitors to the historical building and a new merchandise mix, news coverage and expanded advertising drove the record revenues.

“Reflections of Iowa” is located in the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines. It offers an eclectic and unique mix of hard-to-find Iowa products, including books, magazines, out-of-print books, gift baskets, food, toys, crafts, souvenirs, clothing and other items related to Iowa’s rich history. Store hours are Monday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 4:30 p.m. Visit the Museum Store’s web site at www.iowahistory.org or call 515-283-1757 for more information.
