MOINES) – The State Historical Museum
and Barnes & Noble are holding their annual book
fair this month.
Customers who present book fair vouchers at Barnes
& Noble, 4550 University Avenue in West Des Moines
on November 11-12, 2006 can have a percentage of their
purchase amount donated to the State Historical Museum
for educational programming. There is no additional
cost to the customer.
Book fair vouchers can be downloaded on-line at www.iowahistory.org
and can be picked up at the information desk of the
State Historical Museum, 600 E. Locust Street in the
Historic East Village. Book fair vouchers also will
be available 11 a.m.-Noon in the Barnes & Noble
children’s department during storytime with
Maureen Korte.
Barnes & Noble book fairs provide the perfect
fundraising opportunity for non-profit arts and literacy
organizations. The book fair partnership allows supporters
of an organization to assist fundraising efforts by
shopping at Barnes & Noble during a designated
period using a book fair voucher. Barnes & Noble
gives the organization a percentage of net voucher
proceeds as indicated below:
- 10 percent contribution of sales up to $2,000
- 15 percent contribution of sales from $2,000
to $10,000
- 20 percent contribution of sales over $10,000
The State Historical Society of Iowa is a trustee
of Iowa’s historical legacy and an advocate
