MOINES) – The State Historical Museum
will offer a smorgasbord of fun this weekend with
free activities for kids on Saturday and a “Pamper
Room” for moms on Mother’s Day.
“Spring Festival,” 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday,
will feature crafts, face painting and games, including
jump roping with West Des Moines Girl Scouts at Noon.
Visitors to the museum will also take home a free
packet of flower seeds, courtesy of Earl May Nursery
& Garden Centers.
On Mother’s Day, dad and the kids can treat
mom with a story, make cards and let her enjoy the
“Pamper Room” 12:30-3:30 p.m. The Iowa
Museum gift shop will be open for those special Mother’s
Day gifts, too.
The State Historical Museum is at 600 E. Locust Street
in Des Moines’ Historic East Village. Hours
are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Noon-4:30
