MOINES) – Families and children can enjoy the magic of the season and fill their tummies with a hearty breakfast when the State Historical Museum continues a beloved holiday tradition this month.
The 3rd Annual “Breakfast with Santa” will be 9-11 a.m. Dec. 13 and 20, 2008, at the State Historical Museum, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 and younger or free for children 2 and younger and may be purchased at www.iowatix.com or by calling 515-277-3727. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
Café Baratta’s will serve a kid-friendly breakfast buffet accompanied by guitarist Frank Strong playing seasonal music. Santa and Mrs. Claus will then join the families and read holiday stories to children.
Those who wish to have their picture taken with Santa may do so in front of a holiday scene complete with large lighted tree and characteristic Gingerbread House. The Elves’ Workshop will be open for children, with accompanying adult, to make gifts for friends or family members. Lastly, all children will receive a special gift as they leave.
