This is the regimental banner for the Third Iowa
Battery.
This flag is very unique–one side of the flag features
a (c.1851) version of the Wisconsin state seal, and the opposite side
features an eagle with a bow and arrow, and a ribbon with the word "Iowa"
on it. It carries battle honors for the Battle of Pea Ridge.
The regiment was raised in Dubuque and is representative
of the Iowa and Wisconsin men who served in this unit during the Civil
War.
This flag was one of seven receiving complete conservation
efforts in 2006. The flag is framed, and pictured here, with the Iowa
side showing. The Wisconsin side is pictured on the left.
