Take a first-hand look at the Iowa caucuses – how they work, why they work, their affect on candidates and the difference from other steps in the presidential process. “Caucus Iowa” showcases the Iowa caucuses’ rise to national significance in the 1970s and recreates a coffee shop where Iowans experience “retail politics.” Visitors will also enter a living room and gymnasium to experience caucus night in action. The exhibit also examines the impact the media has on the caucuses, transforming them into an international media event every four years.

Although wildlife now flourishes in Iowa, these dioramas are still valued tools by which teachers, parents and grandparents may discuss the history, diversity and conservation of Iowa’s wildlife. The dioramas have been dusted off and brought up from storage to be put back on display. Now cleaned and safe to view, they will be on display through 2008, after which they will return to secure storage and be available for future interpretive needs.
