State Historical Museum

 

 

The State Historical Museum serves as an exciting place where Iowans and other visitors can experience the past.

 

You can visit state-of-the-art exhibits which allow you to explore the past in a way you may never have before.  The interactive exhibits enable you to to see, hear, and even touch Iowa's history. Another of the building's attractions is the library and archives, where genealogical and historical researchers uncover the past. You may want to browse in the Museum Store and dine at the Cafe.

Hours

Open:

Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Noon to 4:30 p.m.

 

Closed:

The Museum is closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

 

Parking

 

Free parking is available directly across the building in a ramp on Grand Avenue. In addition, there is metered parking on the streets surrounding the building.
