Once you have completed
the Request for SHPO Comment on a Department of Education Project form in accordance
with the Instructions and the Guidance Memorandum, please mail it and the accompanying
information to the address indicated on the form. Do not submit information via
email or fax.
If the Guidance Memorandum
requests an Iowa Site Inventory Form for your project, you may download the appropriate
forms, instructions, and guidance material found at www.iowahistory.org/preservation/inventory_collections/index.html.
You may find it helpful
to hire a professional architectural historian or historian in order to complete
the Iowa Site Inventory forms. SHPO may also request a professional evaluation
of a property in their comment on your project. If so, you can find a list of
consultants currently practicing in Iowa at www.iowahistory.org/preservation/consultants.
