Look What’s in Iowa Heritage Illustrated
The
summer issue of Iowa Heritage Illustrated covers one of the most essential
factors of our everyday lives—our health. Looking at public health in Iowa,
the issue traces its history, starting with the common belief that diseases were
caused by miasmas and dangerous vapors. Individual Iowans and institutions battled
tuberculosis, influenza and polio to bring about major changes in how we live
and how long we live. Read all about it in the summer issue, illustrated as always
with photographs from the past.
