Fashions from the Homefront Style Show March 25
During
the Civil War, the women of the North dressed differently than the women of the
South—in different styles and fabrics and in specific types of dress for
specific occasions. Now, in conjunction with the popular exhibit Civil War
Survivors: Battle Flags Tell Stories from the Front, the State Historical
Museum presents "Fashions from the Homefront: An 1860s Style Show”
Saturday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m.
In the backdrop of the exhibit, visitors will be able to see, learn about and even try on a number of the different types and styles of clothing worn by women and children in the 1860s. From bonnets, boots and pantaloons to ribbons, plumes and fancy shoes, step back in time during this event that will entertain the whole family!
