“On the Spot” Volunteers Needed at Historical Museum

Volunteer your time for any or all of the exciting programs occurring at the State Historical Museum in the next few months. Ask your friends and volunteer as a group. State Historical Building events and programs are a great opportunity to earn volunteer service hours for your school, workplace or through United Way. Volunteers make a difference! Spring Break Programs
March 20-24, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Help children and families with crafts, read stories, help with scavenger hunts, help with workshops following play performance.

Tall Tales play
March 21-23, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Need greeters, ushers, ticket help, someone to assist children and families or help children create their own Iowa folk heroes in workshops.

The Hubbell Family play
April 3-7, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Need greeters, ushers, ticket help, someone to assist children and help presenters.

Civil War workshop presenters
April 3-7, 11 a.m.-12 and 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Present workshops on Iowa and the Civil War and the Iowa Battle Flags in the Civil War Survivors: Battle Flags Tell Stories from the Front exhibit.

Grant Wood: Prairie Rebel play
April 7, 6:30-9 p.m.

This is a fundraiser for the Museum Theatre program. Need greeters at the front door and in the atrium, ticket help, ushers, coat checkers, food and drink servers.
